Question by Daniella C: Is there any way of knowing when will the apple laptops be upgraded to the Mac OS X Lion software?
I’ve being planning on getting a macbook but I’m worried about apple lunching a new version of their laptops. I want a macbook pro, but the new version just came out and it didn’t have the new software called Mac OS X Lion which is supposedly better than the last… so I don’t know what to do… wait for a couple months or get it now?

Snow Leopard (Mac OS X10.6) is good enough. You don’t have to worry about missing out much on Lion. You will be able to buy the retail version of Lion when it is released and install it. This is the only risk: having to pay for the upgrade, which we don’t know the price for, yet – Snow Leopard is $ 29, but this might not be a reference since previous retail versions had cost something like $ 130.)
However, don’t rush to much on Lion. Major version releases *always* come with an abundance of bugs and annoyances that only start to get sorted out significantly after 2 or 3 service update releases. So, you’re looking at a time span of maybe one year (from today) before it’s recommendable to upgrade to Lion, if at all.
